Figured I'd start a thread for just generally PCARs verbage.
Then kick it off by asking if anyone else has tried the new Japanese car pack. If not it's pretty good, the TS040 is amazing on boost, so accelerates out of slow corners like a rocket but then runs out of guts ones the battery dies. Not sure about it at le mans but those heavy braking zones might give it the charge it needs for a whole lap. The Lancers are both great to drive in my opinion as is the GT86/FRS. The rocket bunny cars are both a little tail happy, particularly the FR-S version which on down shift I've had full on drifts. The GT4 GT-86 is fast, might even be the fastest GT4, will have to see.
Yeah this pack is awesome all for under £3 with 8 cars forza should take note was in some gt4 lobbys on sat in the gt86 and loved it, even had some great mp races and won them all hahaha
I think the game is really coming around to what we were all hoping it would be. Im really looking forward to the next patch or 2. I think im going to hold off on playing until i get my replacement wheel. Im glad i havent really done much online racing and havent really done career or gone through and tuned everything because i think that would annoy me in the game having done something only to go back and redo it. So far most of my time has been spent in the lmp1 car and a few others which arent really slated to change. I think the game is actually ready for me to attack the other modes now as online relaibility is much better. Career mode doesnt seem to just delete itself as much. I may go through and delete all my content and redownload it and join the x1 experience as its eventually going to be forced on us and i dont want to get further in a game only to require a factory reset. (or is that to opt out?)
Haven't tried any of the Japanese car pack cars yet. I have been stalking gt3 lobbies and breaking hearts in the name of PTG though.
I will download the new car pack and check it out tonight. I'm thinking of getting an evo X in real life soon, so this car pack should be a nice prelude.

I drove the TS040 for the first time tonight. You're right about it's acceleration out of corners. I had a few spins before I learned how it applied power. Once I got it figured out it is a very nice car to drive.
The only other car out of this pack I've driven is the GT 86 Rocket Bunny but I thought it was very slow. On 70 AI strength it can't catch the Aston. But yes it is VERY tail happy and it has a great engine noise.
Yep. Ill try to get one up by this weekend. I have some testing to do in forza for something i was working on and then ill be back on pcars with ya buddy. New wheel has arrived so i need to give it a good bashing to see how much better pcars is without a broken gear or whatever was wrong.
So it's confirmed, next DLC is a classic pack, Rouen-Les-Essarts, Classic silverstone and Hockenheim plus a group of lotus race cars. Looks to be awesome
Ok I think this is the most awesome DLC/Expansion they've had so far. Old Hockenheim was in my track wishlist way back when the question was first asked on Pcars forums. That and Old Spa but I'll gladly take these other two as well. That's a Silverstone layout that I'm not that familiar with but can't wait to try it out.
I just hope it's not 3 weeks or so before Xbox gets the 6.0 patch.

If i recall forza 4 had the old silverstone layout. I personally liked the old layout a lot better than the new one if it is the one im thinking of. Forza 5 the silverstones were kind of all new to me.

This almost looks like a version before the one you're talking about. The slow part before the finish line isn't there (Club and Woodcut I think but I might have that wrong) also I didn't see Bridge in that footage. You know where on the current start line you would have turned left and gone under the bridge? Just judging by the trackside buildings and such and also the bollards on the turns.
When you go into the force feedback calibration menu, what are your spring settings? I'm still trying to figure out this massive wheel oscillation problem I'm having on certain cars mainly open wheel but terrible under braking on the Lotus 40.
Mine are
menu spring strength 0.05 low speed spring coefficient 0.25 low speed spring saturation 1.00 steering gain 1.00
I'm going to play with these to see if I can fix it but I was curious as to what everyone else had there's set at.

Is this on your TX or Fanatec? If it's the TX the oscillation is a mixture of too much relative adjust gain/not enough or too much bleed and a high steering gain. Try lowering Steering Gain in increments of 10 to see if that helps.
Depending on your Tire Force, a 1.00 steering gain is pretty high. 25 to 40 is plenty and at that you can run a higher Tire Force (better/cleaner feedback from the tires) instead of just a final multiplier (steering gain). It's up to you, however you like it is fine

LOL. I guess since I have both now I'm going to have to say which wheel it is. Although I still don't have the Fanatec fully assembled yet. I'm going to try and do that tomorrow......maybe.
It is in the steering gain. 1.00 is just what the default was after SMS added it to the settings and I've never changed it. Right after I posted I lowered it down to .25 and that made it butter soft. The only problem is that on most other cars it hasn't been a problem. So I'm going to have to see if the lowered setting for just these few cars works on everything else. This is another one of these blanket settings that I wish SMS would move into the individual car settings so it wouldn't be a one must fit all kind of thing. Just like cockpit POV.
2 things. Can't u keep the setting where u have it and raise tyre force on the individual cars to get it back to where it was.
Also I know u can't adjust fov for each car but once u have ur chosen fov can't u adjust the seat in each car for the minor adjustments?
Not that I'm aware of. Tire force is in the same menu as the steering gain settings. Cockpit POV is still in the field of view settings in controls and options.
Now this is gonna be interesting !!! With patch 7.0, us console users will be able to use the PCars dash app (Android/App store) directly via tablet or smartphone And the Crew Chief app via pc as a second screen for telemetry etc !!

You on clubsport wheel? If so post wheel settings.
Try Global FFB 100 and tyre force 75. on PC. With Jack spades sop+kerb files.
If on xbox I have. Sen=aut - FF=aut - Sho=100 - ABS=80 LIN/dea/dri=off. Not sure what Global FFB and TF are on xbox as don't play much.
