The other night I downloaded VRhive installed it, went to my setup. Switched default setting to udp, set the level to 4, Turned on logging all data and connected.
Quick rundown of the app, firstly and most important this app is free with donations excepted. There are 2 separate things involved in this app. "Crew Engineer" and "Telemetry analysis" however i think you can pull the telemetry analysis data into the crew engineer if you would like. I had a little hiccup, not sure what happened maybe my WiFi had a hiccup but when i was in TT it stopped logging my telemetry data. I restarted the program reconnected and it continued to work from then on out. Also, everything in each section can be set to a floating screen and you could make each portion its own window if you'd like, would be great on a triple screen setup for testing prior to a race. Middle screen for driving one screen with telemetry analysis so you can analyze your driving and see how consistent or what tuning changes applied improve the car, allowing you to apply more throttle sooner etc. and then the crew engineer screen on one screen to get a monitor of the vehicle setup. See below for more information
Crew Engineer Screen
Displays a bit like a dash app and has most of the information you could use for a race.
Information provided: Tach, speedometer, gear indicator, tyre temps, tyre wear, brake temps, tcs light, headlight indicator, abs light, wind screen wiper indicator, water temp, oil temp, water pressure, oil pressure, fuel gauge with low fuel light, Fuel info: liters left in tank, instant fuel usage, average per lap usage, amount of laps before refill required. Current and last lap information including sectors and current delta, theoretical time, track record information, pb information, session best information, breakdown of each lap in session (includes sector times, lap #, amount of fuel used and pit indicator if you pitted), track info including: location, layout, length, track temp, air temp, wind speed. Also a position and lap indicator and session information likely for save data/logging such as driver, car class, car, session (tt, mp race etc.), contact, pit mode, pit schedule.
Telemetry Analysis screen
I have yet to find where the data from each session is stored as it says it does. And to me this isn't always going to be beneficial because some of my sessions are only a half of lap. Unlike forza I restart session very frequently in pcars, for 2 reasons. I always have tyre wear and damage/ mechanical failures on. Run too many laps with a hotlap setup and the car will destroy itself and because you start on a flying lap it seems worth it to restart session rather than continuing. Once i locate this data, it would however be nice to be able to actually see in the data without interpreting the data and making a guess, where in the data t1, t2 etc is located but it is not necessary as you will be able to see by the data available. Graphed data includes Lateral/ longitudinal forces, throttle/brake input, speed/steering (includes direction of steering based off of 0), Gear, tyre slip (IIRC). On top of the graphed information there is additional information such as lap data, track information (supposedly a track map that hopefully overlays with the data but i havent gotten this portion to work.) and then there is also a big list with all the seperate raw data likely used to interpolate the graphs.
To me at the price of free not sure how u can really go wrong with this app. The only thing i wish it did or was able to do is list out positions of all the drivers and give deltas as well as show on the track map where all the drivers are located. This would be a good reference in a longer race so you can tell if it is a leader coming around or someone you are competing with etc.
A must for the serious racer. Not tried on console but used on my pc. A trial version is available to try first.
If you want the sweary version to kick your arse in to gear when racing then buy the full version. Spotter/race updates on tyres etc and deltas. As well as voice recognition for race up dates you require.
I don't believe voice recognition works with console. Coops tried the free version the other day and then I think he immediately purchased it.I hadn't tried it get because I was more looking for a telemetry program but did intend on trying the free version.
