I know some people have it on PC and have had it for a while but with it's fresh release on consoles I feel (hope) that more people will have it soon. Not sure if leagues cross over between PC and console, though I hope they will eventually, so I doubt we can all play together. Just felt like it should have its own place for discussion, setups, etc.
I am in LOVE with rallycross right now, it's ridiculously fun. Might mostly be because its easier than actual rally, or could be because I didn't play any real rally stages except the two previews in Greece. Either way I can imagine some fantastic racing if we were to get a 12-16 person group doing rallycross.
I don't know if anyone here has tried it on xbox or on a controller, i would say we have 4 people who have tried it on pc and all using a thrustmaster tx wheel.
In the early release of the game their was major complains about the ffb model, people complained. They went back and revamped the whole system and from what i gather the ffb is respectable now.
Nice, I should have mine in the next few months. My boss told me that's my bonus for designing a racing cabinet for his kids once we get the time. I'm gonna play with controller settings tonight to try and make it less twitchy.
I got this game Wedsnesday night. Managed to get on it yesterday but I used my TX for it. It's great fun had to turn down the strength of the wheel to 65 as 100 was like PCars solid. I have no desire to run the game with a controller as I've heard it's better with a wheel.
I wouldn't worry about the use/longevity Dano. I've put well over 1000 hours on my TX and it still performs at the same level as a new one
And by good as new I don't mean by feel I mean by testing and the numbers.
I guess it's just the eternal pessimist in me that always thinks something is going to go wrong. Plus I don't have very good luck in general on just about anything. But my wheel has developed a kind of high pitched whistling noise that sounds sort of like the old dial up internet noise. So I'm waiting on the smoke to start pouring out of it at any time.
I think you should be able to cross platform with leagues as they're all based off of racenet. I tried searching for the PTG one friday but the search function doesn't seem to work. After toying with it most of the weekend I feel that a wheel is almost a must for this game. Controller is simply not responsive enough to fine input and seemingly too responsive to large inputs.
Don't have the game, but check your options menu, their may be some sort of sensitivity setting, or you can adjust speed sensitivity or something like you can in pcars. They may have done the opposite of what pcars did in the beginning and made the controller very "stiff" as to not make driving to difficult for new people but you can make it looser. As I said haven't played so this is a guess.
There are controller settings, haven't really messed with them yet. That's the goal for this week. I manage pretty well in spite of it though, usually finish in the top tier for daily/weekly events. I'm waiting to get my Impreza R4 and get comfortable with it before I dive off into global settings to keep them more in line with what I'll usually be running. I may just bump stability assist up a bit to try and compensate.

You would have thought that cross platform leagues would work but from my experience I have only seen it working for an individual platform.
I've resisted buying it for the xbox so far despite most of the people I know having it on console as I have it on the PC and have a wheel that works with my PC but not xbox.
I can see RallyX not working cross-platform yet as it's head to head but the rally and hillclimb stages I can't see why not. The leagues are run through racenet so it seems easy enough for times to be uploaded there to form the rankings. All in good time I suppose.
I'm guessing it's got something to do with the API's that each system using. Although it shouldn't be that hard to collect the results and then merge them, it may be a bit more difficult feeding back to the client but nothing impossible. Seem's quite lazy they haven't bothered for game such as DiRT
On a slightly unrelated note, i'm having a hard time getting to grips with the pikes peak events, does anyone here have a comfortable setup on the Audi Quattro Pikes Peak? and if not which of the other two hillclimb cars is better in your opinion.
I'm not special, i just make shapes with an xbox controller sometimes.
For tarmac or mixed I've got nothing. Sadly setups are proving quite difficult for me to find for this game. Running it full gravel I use the stock settings and it works well enough.
I prefer the Quattro but 405 is outright faster, just doesn't handle the way I like.
